KXCV
KXCV-KRNW is an NPR station serving the Northwest Missouri area.Signing on the air in 1971, KXCV was the first full-power public radio service in Missouri. KXCV provides in-depth news and information, classical music and jaz...z programming. In 1993, KRNW went on the air in Chillicothe, extending programming across most of the northern 25 percent of the state of Missouri. All programming emanates from KXCV on the campus of Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri. Since its inception under the leadership of Station Managers Cathran Cushman, Rollie Stadlman, Cory Dennison, Sharon Bonnett, Ted Riley and Rodney Harris, and Northwest Presidents Bob Foster, B. D. Owens, and Dean Hubbard, KXCV has served as a training ground for Northwest students interested in broadcasting. The dual mission of serving listeners and training students remains foremost in the KXCV/KRNW mission. KXCV (XCV - Roman numbers for 95) is located at 90.5 on the FM dial. KRNW (RNW - Radio Northwest) is located at 88.9 on the FM dial. The two stations broadcast the mainstays of public radio: Morning Edition, All Things Considered, Prairie Home Companion, Car Talk, and Fresh Air, provided through National Public Radio and American Public Media. Nineteen local/regional newscasts originate from the KXCV newsroom each weekday along with locally produced classical music and jazz programming. In 2006, KXCV entered the digital age by installing a new state-of-the-art digital transmitter. More recently in 2008, KRNW's new digital signal went on the air. These two new transmitters allow our listeners with a digital radio the ability to receive CD quality sound. In the future, KXCV-KRNW will have the ability to provide another channel of programming to our listeners. Meer weergeven
