We began as a weekly show called “The Friday Night Vibe” on KLYT in Albuquerque, NM. Chris Chicago joined the KLYT team in 1999 and began syndicating his radio show in 2003. It was rebranded HYPE Radio with Chris Chicago in 2007. With the addition of a new app to focus on a more multimedia world, the brand was renamed Jam The Hype in 2012. In July of 2013, we acquired DaSouth.com, one of the leading Christian hip-hop sites, and in October of the same year, rebranded with a new look and website. We exist to encourage our audience and give them an alternative to mainstream hip-hop and R&B. We have seen many come to Christ through the music played on Jam The Hype’s radio show (Jam The Hype LIVE with Chris Chicago), station, and the content on the site and want to continue using the vessel of music, radio, TV, and web to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
